Steaming into its fourth year of publication, Pitreadie Digest is written and edited by Carlos Castillo, who has covered the commercial real estate financing niche since 2004. Prior to that, Castillo wrote articles on business-related topics for several publications, including the San Francisco Chronicle, and edited award-winning newspapers in California’s Silicon Valley. He worked for Gannett after earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from California State University, Fresno. Castillo’s avocation is filmmaking, and his 23-minute film "Hidden Parts," a finalist in competition as a screenplay, was exhibited in various cities nationwide and aired on PBS. He is currently producing a documentary on former world-champion boxer Bobby Chacon.
